As part of our effort to support the less privileged, Human Development Initiatives,(HDI), organised her annual program tagged “A Day Out with Special Children”. Education Trust Fund project focuses on supporting the education of orphans, children of widows/widowers and children with disabilities who are highly prone to dropping out of school as a result of the demise of one or both parents and consequent inability of the surviving parent or guardian to meet the children’s educational needs. This year’s program was held from the 9th to the 11th of November, 2020 (Monday – Wednesday) at HDI training room, 2, Iwaya Road, Onike, Lagos State.
The Human Development Initiatives-Education Trust Fund, (HDI-ETF) is a project which supports government’s efforts in ensuring the education of selected beneficiaries from primary through University based on good behavior and consistent outstanding academic performance. This year, HDI-ETF provided 500 beneficiaries with school items such as Uniforms, Pairs of Socks, Ties, Berets, Sandals, Bags, Note books, Mathematical sets, Text Books e.t.c. HDI-ETF supported two children with disabilities with wheelchair to enhance their movement.
According to the Executive Director, Mrs. Olufunso Owasanoye she reinstated that HDI-ETF is committed to putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged children. HDI celebrates and congratulates her ever committed donors from individuals to corporate bodies, who have made this project possible in the first place. We will continue to be transparent, accountable and not take your sacrifices of love for granted. She also commended the Lagos State Government for their support.
