Through our Impact 2023 project, our organization provided critical health and welfare assistance to 500 widows from across Lagos State. Over the course of this multifaceted program, we delivered free health talks, screenings, medical consultations, and treatment tailored to the needs of widow attendees. Expert speakers offered invaluable advice and information on health topics affecting widows, enabling attendees to make more informed choices. Free screenings and consultations facilitated early diagnosis and accessible care. For many participants, this represented their first medical attention in years.
In addition to healthcare, we distributed foodstuffs, clothing materials, and other critical relief aid. With many widow-headed households living in poverty, this direct assistance helped ensure access to nutrition, comfort, and dignity. The gratitude and relief conveyed by recipients were immensely moving.
